Dear Members and Friends of CCEH,
After listening to many of you, gathering input from church staff, and many conversations, we have decided for CCEH worship to return to Zoom only (from the sanctuary) for the next 3 Sundays – January 9, 16 and 23 as the most prudent option.
This means, there will be no access to the sanctuary on those three Sundays for anyone except those leading worship (Victor, Rev. Jim, Deacon of the Month, Cantors, Camera person, etc.) We invite all worshippers to use the regular Zoom link per usual. There will be no Sunday School or Children’s Message these three Sundays.
The current situation with the highly contagious variant of COVID-19 along with the significant number of our church family and staff who have contracted the virus leads us to take this action in order to maximize the safety of those who are vulnerable while still providing the opportunity to have a Sunday worship.
Upon re-evaluation of the situation the week of January 23, we hope to return to hybrid format of worship on Sunday January 30. We will make another announcement that week. Hybrid is what we’ve been doing these many months, with in-person worship in the sanctuary and online access via Zoom.
Some key calendar items we are keeping in mind:
- January 23 – CCEH Budget meeting. We are planning for this to be via Zoom. We did Zoom last year and it seemed to go alright.
- January 30 – CCEH Annual Meeting, and also Rev. Jim’s final Sunday.
Note: Other groups or events scheduled during these three weeks can decide for themselves how they want to proceed.
Please keep our church, our community, and our nation in your prayers as we face these challenging times together.
We appreciate your understanding and concern for the welfare of all,
Jerry Gerkey, Moderator
Mary DeCoursey, Deacon Chair
