Belltown Open

The Belltown Open Golf Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2nd at Blackledge Golf Course.

This is always a major fundraising event for the East Hampton Food and Fuel Bank and our church. Last year over $6,000 was raised for the church and with a generous 25% matching contribution from our local Rotary Club, over $8,000 was contributed to the Food Bank. With food and heating fuel prices rising, and a deficit church budget; holding a successful event is more important than ever.
The golf tournament committee is asking the congregation to help by seeking out new sponsors and golfers for the 2022 tournament. Do you work for or know of a company that would be willing to sponsor a tee or make a donation? Are you a golfer that can get a foursome together for a great day of golf? Can you help on the day of the tournament? How about providing raffle prizes? Registration forms are available above the mailboxes, outside the church office.  It will take the whole congregation to make this year’s golf tournament a success. If you can help out in any way please contact Cyndi Shirshac, cshirshac123@sbcglobal.net, 860-276-8194.

The function of the Diaconate is “to be the eyes and ears for the church membership” and support the Pastor, most visibly on Sunday mornings as “Deacon of the Month”. I am confident that any of the currently serving Deacons, as well as past members, would agree that service is rewarding and provides opportunity for a deepened faith journey.

The current Diaconate is comprised of 5 members.  The church by-laws call for the Board of Deacons to be comprised of 12 members. We are a small but dedicated group but at this time, we are truly spread thin.
We are asking that members of our church family prayerfully consider joining us in service.  We meet once a month for perhaps an hour.  Ideally, each Deacon would serve as Deacon of the Month for one month a year.  Please speak to any one of us if you have any questions.  We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this meaningful service with you.

Your current Diaconate members:
Mary DeCoursey, Jed Dolde, Karen Gallmon, Matt Gallmon,
Jackie Hooper-Hage, David Selger

The Yarner’s meet EVERY THURSDAY
from 10:30a-12:00p in fellowship hall
All knitters and crocheters are welcome!
